CIREBON — Suara hentakan kaki dan pekikan semangat menggema di GOR Bima Kota Cirebon, Sabtu hingga Minggu, 26–27 Juli 2025 kemarin. Sekitar 460 karateka dari berbagai daerah di wilayah Cirebon bertarung dalam ajang Forki Cirebon Championship XI, kejuaraan tahunan yang tahun ini menjadi bagian dari rangkaian Hari Jadi Kota Cirebon.
Dengan mempertandingkan dua kategori utama, yaitu Kata dan Kumite. Ajang ini terbuka mulai dari kelompok pra usia dini hingga senior. Para atlet muda menampilkan disiplin, teknik, dan mental juang yang mencerminkan gairah baru dalam pembinaan olahraga beladiri klasik Jepang tersebut.
Kejuaraan ini dibuka secara resmi oleh Ketua Forki Kota Cirebon, Fitria Pamungkaswati, yang menyebutkan bahwa event ini bukan hanya seremonial, tapi bagian dari proses panjang untuk menyiapkan atlet menuju babak kualifikasi Porprov 2026.
“Kami ingin mengembalikan atmosfer kompetitif karate di wilayah Ciayumajakuning. Di sinilah regenerasi dan evaluasi pembinaan bisa dilihat,” ujar Fitria saat membuka kejuaraan.
Hadir pula pejabat dari unsur Pemkot, di antaranya Kepala Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga, Kepala Dinas UMKM, serta Ketua KONI Kota Cirebon. Pertandingan berlangsung dengan profesional, dipimpin oleh wasit dan juri bersertifikasi Forki Jawa Barat, di bawah komando H. Dede Admiral, M.Pd.
