Beberapa waktu terakhir, masyarakat Kuningan mulai ramai memperbincangkan persaingan menuju kursi Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) definitif. Beberapa nama yang kini berada di jajaran kepala perangkat daerah tampil lebih intens di ruang publik. Menariknya, bukan karena gebrakan kebijakan atau capaian strategis, melainkan karena penghargaan pribadi yang tiba-tiba muncul dan dipublikasikan berulang-ulang.
Ada yang diganjar gelar prestisius dari tingkat provinsi, ada pula yang menerima pengakuan dari lembaga nasional. Semua itu sah sebagai bentuk apresiasi. Tapi mari kita tanya dengan jujur: apakah penghargaan semacam itu cukup dijadikan alasan untuk menduduki jabatan sekda?
Sementara di lapangan, masalah-masalah nyata belum tuntas. Petani masih mengeluhkan akses pupuk yang terbatas, harga jual hasil panen yang tidak menguntungkan, dan ketahanan pangan yang rapuh. Di sektor lain, akses pendidikan belum merata, kualitas fasilitas belajar masih timpang, dan tenaga pendidik belum sepenuhnya sejahtera.buruh yg terkebiri dlm hiruk pikuk bumd dan swasta, Bukankah ini semua pekerjaan besar yang menanti diselesaikan?
Jika penghargaan-penghargaan itu menjadi satu-satunya panggung untuk membangun citra demi jabatan baru, maka yang sedang dibangun bukanlah kepercayaan publik, tapi ambisi pribadi. Ini bukan kompetisi gagasan, tapi kontes simbol.
