PANGANDARAN – Kamis pagi (8/8), Pantai Pangandaran berubah menjadi lautan merah putih. Ribuan bendera berkibar gagah di darat dan laut, menciptakan pemandangan yang tak biasa. Sebanyak 17.845 bendera Merah Putih dikibarkan serentak oleh Polres Pangandaran bersama nelayan, komunitas pesisir, dan warga setempat sebagai perayaan menjelang Hari Ulang Tahun ke-80 Kemerdekaan RI.
Tak hanya garis pantai yang dipenuhi bendera, 80 kapal nelayan pun berlayar sambil mengibarkan sang saka di perairan Pangandaran. Meski cuaca sempat diguyur gerimis, suasana tetap penuh semangat.
Kapolres Pangandaran AKBP Dr. Andri Kurniawan, S.I.K., M.H. menuturkan, kegiatan ini memiliki makna lebih dari sekadar perayaan.
“Kami ingin menunjukkan bahwa semangat kemerdekaan itu ada di setiap sudut, baik di darat maupun di laut. Pangandaran tidak hanya indah, tapi juga kaya akan nilai kebangsaan,” ujarnya.
Acara dimulai dengan apel dan doa bersama, dilanjutkan penyerahan bendera secara simbolis kepada nelayan, Balawista, komunitas snorkeling, dan masyarakat pesisir. Setelah itu, bendera dikibarkan di titik-titik strategis di darat dan di kapal masing-masing.
