Dari balik uap panas, Mun, seorang perempuan sederhana dengan senyum yang tak pernah lelah, setia menjaga sebuah tradisi keluarga yang sudah berlangsung puluhan tahun.
Mun bukan sekadar membuat lontong. Ia sedang merawat warisan leluhur, sebuah usaha turun-temurun yang kini telah menjadi bagian dari denyut kehidupan pasar tradisional.
Sehari-hari, ia bangun lebih pagi dari kebanyakan orang, merendam beras, membungkusnya dengan daun pisang, lalu merebusnya berjam-jam hingga beras itu menjelma lontong padat yang siap dinikmati, yang akan dijual di Pasar Karangampel.
Bayangkan, dari 25 kilogram beras bisa menjadi seribu lontong, satu demi satu dibungkus dengan telaten, tanpa pernah kehilangan rasa cinta yang diwariskan orangtuanya.
Dalam sehari, sekitar 30 kilogram beras habis diolah, menjadi bekal nasi praktis bagi pedagang pecel, tukang sate, warung sayur asem, hingga ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang ingin sajian cepat di meja makan.
