Sementara itu, Sesepuh AKAR Maman Mejique mengungkapkan rasa haru dan syukur karena akhirnya setelah 34 tahun berdiri, LSM AKAR memiliki rumah sendiri.
“Dulu kami hanya berbekal kepedulian membersihkan Gunung Ciremai dari sampah sintetis. Setelah enam tahun menabung dan membangun sedikit demi sedikit, akhirnya rumah AKAR bisa berdiri,” ungkap Mejique.
Ia berharap kehadiran rumah ini menjadi tempat konsolidasi dan edukasi untuk terus menanamkan kesadaran menjaga alam pada generasi muda, dengan semangat yang tak pernah padam.
Rumah AKAR kini resmi berdiri, menjadi saksi komitmen panjang para pejuang lingkungan di Kuningan yang setia merawat alam sebagai warisan untuk anak cucu kelak. (ali)
