KUNINGAN – SMPN 6 Kuningan resmi ditunjuk sebagai salah satu lokasi rintisan Sekolah Rakyat, program unggulan pemerintah pusat yang menawarkan pendidikan gratis berasrama bagi anak-anak dari keluarga miskin dan miskin ekstrem.
Pada Jumat, (12/9/2025) kemarin, Bupati Kuningan, Dr. H. Dian Rachmat Yanuar, M.Si., meninjau langsung kesiapan sekolah bersama jajaran pemerintah daerah. Hadir pula Wakil Bupati Tuti Andriani, S.H., M.Kn., Penjabat Sekda Wahyu Hidayah, M.Si., Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Uu Kusmana, M.Si., serta Kepala Dinas Sosial Dr. H. Toto Toharuddin, M.Pd., M.H.
“Ini bukan sekedar sekolah, tetapi ikhtiar untuk memutus rantai kemiskinan melalui pendidikan inklusif dan berkarakter. SMPN 6 menjadi rintisan, sementara pembangunan permanen akan direncanakan di Desa Cikandang, Kecamatan Luragung. Semua percepatan didukung Kementerian PUPR,” ujar Bupati Dian.
Ia menegaskan seluruh pekerjaan harus tuntas sebelum akhir bulan. “Tidak boleh ada keterlambatan. Proses KBM siswa sementara dipindahkan ke SMPN 3 Kuningan agar tetap berjalan tanpa hambatan,” tambahnya.
