KUNINGAN – Universitas Kuningan (Uniku) kembali menorehkan kebanggaan. Tiga atlet mahasiswa dari kampus pertama di Kabupaten Kuningan itu akan memperkuat kontingen Jawa Barat dalam ajang Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Nasional (POMNAS) 2023 yang digelar di Banjarmasin, Kalimantan Selatan, pada 12–22 November 2023.
Ketiga atlet tersebut adalah Muhammad Rifki, mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Hukum Fakultas Hukum, yang akan berlaga di cabang olahraga atletik. Sementara dua atlet lainnya, Ririn Wulandari dari Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP dan Findi Liana Herpandi dari Prodi Manajemen FEB, akan tampil di cabang olahraga pencak silat pada kelas A (45–50 kg) dan kelas B (50–55 kg).
Prosesi pelepasan secara resmi dilakukan oleh Rektor Uniku H. Dikdik Harjadi, didampingi Wakil Rektor III Novi Satria Praja, di lingkungan kampus pada awal pekan ini.
“Kami sangat bangga. Mahasiswa kami bisa ikut serta di POMNAS, ini adalah bukti bahwa Uniku tidak hanya unggul dalam akademik, tetapi juga dalam bidang olahraga,” kata Dikdik, Rabu, 8 November 2023.
Ia juga berpesan agar para atlet menjaga kesehatan, menjunjung tinggi sportivitas, dan membawa nama baik almamater Universitas Kuningan.
“Terima kasih dan apresiasi setinggi-tingginya kepada para atlet. Kehadiran kalian mewakili Jabar adalah kontribusi nyata Uniku di ajang olahraga tingkat nasional,” tambahnya.
