Banjar – Pemerintah Kota Banjar terus berupaya memperkuat ketahanan pangan sekaligus mendorong kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat. Salah satunya ditunjukkan melalui kegiatan penanaman jagung yang dipimpin langsung Wali Kota Banjar, Ir. H. Sudarsono, bersama Wakil Wali Kota, Dr. H. Supriana, M.Pd., Ketua Sementara DPRD Kota Banjar, Sutopo, S.IP., dan Kapolres Banjar, AKBP Tyas Puji Rahadi, S.I.K., di kawasan pertanian Lingkungan Sukarame RT 04 RW 25, Kelurahan Mekarsari, Kecamatan Banjar, Selasa (9/9/2025).
Penanaman dilakukan di lahan seluas 2 hektar dengan benih jagung hibrida sebanyak 30 kilogram yang merupakan bantuan dari Dinas Ketahanan Pangan, Pertanian, dan Perikanan Kota Banjar. Jagung dipilih karena menjadi salah satu komoditas strategis yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi dan banyak dibutuhkan masyarakat.
Wali Kota Sudarsono menegaskan bahwa sektor pertanian menjadi prioritas pembangunan daerah sejalan dengan program Asta Cita Presiden.
