Tampak hadir dalam seleksi, jajaran Pengurus KONI Kuningan, mulai dari Ketua KONI Kuningan H. Trias Andriana, Ketua Harian KONI Kuningan Ir. Toto Suripto, Sekretaris KONI Kuningan Asep Z Fauzi, dan Ketua Bidang Pembinaan Prestasi KONI Kuningan, Mukhlis Aminudin. Lalu dari Disporapar Kuningan hadir Kabid Olahraga, Bayu Rusman dan jajaran Disporapar Kuningan.
Kepala Dinas Pemuda, Olahraga, dan Pariwisata (Disporapar) Kuningan, Asep Budi Setiawan, menyebut seleksi cabang renang tahun ini cukup istimewa. Pasalnya, meski renang kuningan tidak ikut pada Popwilda Wilayah III, tetap diberikan ruang menuju POPDA tingkat provinsi.
“Renang punya potensi, makanya diberi ruang untuk seleksi. Data kami minta dari cabor, lalu diverifikasi. Bahkan ada beberapa orangtua atlet yang mendorong anaknya ikut serta, sehingga kita menfasilitasi untuk teselenggaranya seleksi kemarin,” kata Asep. Selasa (26/8/2025).
Ia menambahkan, proses seleksi dilakukan terbuka dengan pengawasan langsung Disporapar dan juga dihadiri oleh jajaran pengurus KONI Kuningan. “Renang itu olahraga terukur, jadi butuh proses pembinaan yang jelas. Seleksi ini bukan hanya mencari juara, tapi juga menyiapkan fondasi jangka panjang,” ujarnya. (ali)
