KUNINGAN – Di bawah terik matahari Jumat pagi itu, barisan polisi, petani, hingga aparat desa terlihat sibuk di hamparan lahan sawah Desa Windujanten, Kecamatan Kadugede. Bukan untuk pengamanan, melainkan menanam benih harapan yaitu jagung hibrida.
Kegiatan bertajuk “Penanaman Jagung di Lahan Baku Sawah (LBS) Dalam Rangka Swasembada Pangan” ini bukanlah seremoni belaka. Di baliknya, tersimpan kolaborasi senyap yang mulai menunjukkan hasil perluasan lahan jagung yang melampaui target awal.
Wakapolres Kuningan, Kompol Deny Rahmanto, memimpin langsung kegiatan ini. Ia datang bukan dengan pengeras suara, tetapi membawa semangat instruksi Kapolri,agar Polri turut berkontribusi nyata dalam ketahanan pangan nasional.“Target awal 487 hektare, kini sudah mencapai 509 hektare. Termasuk hari ini. Ini hasil kerja bersama lintas sektor,” ujar Kompol Deny kepada wartawan di sela kegiatan.
Tak jauh darinya, Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian Kabupaten Kuningan, Dr. Wahyu Hidayah, mengangguk puas. Menurutnya, jagung dan padi menjadi fokus dua kekuatan negara yaitu Polri dan TNI. Polri membidik jagung, TNI mendampingi padi. “Kami bahkan mengusulkan perluasan lagi 200 hektare hingga akhir 2025,” katanya.
