KUNINGAN – Salah satu sosok yang disebut dalam riwayat kehidupan Eyang Hasan Maolani Lengkong adalah Eyang Padang, Garawangi. Sebelum belajar agama ke Kadugede, Rajagaluh, dan Pangkalan, Ciawigebang, Eyang Hasan Maulani belajar agama ke sosok tersebut.
Berbeda dengan EHM, singkatan untuk Eyang Hasan Maolani, Eyang Padang atau Embah Padang tidak dikenal lebih jauh, bahkan nyaris sangat asing di sebagian besar telinga masyarakat Kuningan. Alih-alih ajaran apa saja yang pernah disampaikannya, tentang riwayat singkat hidupnya pun mash snagat terbatas.
“Mbah Padang hanya tahu sebutannya saja, nama asli beliau Mbah Yahya. Tapi cerita detail tentang ajaran dan warisan keilmuannya tidak tahu,” kata Asep Saepudin, salah satu narasumber asal Garawangi saat berbincang dengan Ciklpedia.id.
Menurutnya, Mbah Padang merupakan anak sulung dari pasangan suami istri, Embah Gencar dan Mbah Saribah Garawangi. Ia memiliki dua adik yaitu Embah Alimudin yang kemudian ke Pangkalan, Ciawigebang dan Embah Arifah. Tidak diketahui perjalanan kehidupan Embah Padang bagaimana, hanya saja kediaman terakhirnya berlokasi di pemakaman umum Dusun Godong Desa Kramatwangi, Garawangi.
“Kalau Embah Alimudin kan silsilahnya berlanjut ke Embah Toyyibudin Pangkalan, Embah Arifah juga diceritakan memiliki anak yaitu Eyang Murtasimah yang kemudian dinikahi oleh Eyang Hasan Maolani. Kalau Embah Padang tidak ada jejak sama sekali,” tuturnya.
Kiai Asep mengaku sudah banyak bertanya kepada para pihak yang menurutnya cukup kuat dalam mendalami silsilah para ulama terdahulu. Hanya saja, jawaban yang Ia terima nyaris sama, belum mengetahui secara detail bagaimana cerita sesepuh Kuningan tersebut.
