Di tengah derasnya arus globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi yang tak terbendung, pendidikan karakter menjadi fondasi utama dalam membentuk generasi penerus bangsa. Sekolah sebagai lembaga formal tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai tempat pertukaran ilmu pengetahuan, tetapi juga sebagai ruang untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai luhur yang berakar pada Pancasila. Nilai-nilai ini, jika ditanamkan sejak dini dan secara konsisten, akan melahirkan generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga bijak dalam bersikap dan bertindak.
Pendidikan karakter berbasis Pancasila merupakan proses yang menekankan pembentukan kepribadian peserta didik melalui penginternalisasian nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Menurut Susanto (2021), pendidikan yang berlandaskan pada nilai-nilai Pancasila merupakan sebuah usaha yang dirancang secara teratur untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai luhur bangsa. Tujuannya supaya siswa dapat menghadapi berbagai tantangan zaman, namun tetap menjaga jati diri dan identitas sebagai bangsa Indonesia.
Di sekolah, pendidikan berbasis pancasila ini dapat diimplementasikan melalui berbagai kegiatan sekolah mulai dari intrakurikuler, kokurikuler, hingga ekstrakurikuler. Dalam pelaksanaannya, penyesuaian antara kegiatan dan nilai-nilai dalam sila Pancasila perlu berjalan beriringan. seperti pada pembiasaan ibadah bersama dan sikap saling menghormati terhadap perbedaan keyakinan yang mencerminkan penerapan sila pertama.
Kegiatan menjaga kebersihan lingkungan secara gotong royong dan aksi sosial mencerminkan nilai-nilai sila ketiga. dilain sisi , diskusi seputar kesetaraan dan sikap saling menghargai menjadi bagian dari implementasi sila kelima. Pendekatan ini mengintegrasikan pembelajaran kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik secara seimbang.
