Antusiasme warga terlihat tinggi. Berbagai kebutuhan pokok dijual dengan harga lebih murah dari pasar, seperti beras SPHP Rp60.000/5 kg, minyak goreng Rp15.000/800 ml, cabai merah dan rawit Rp6.000/pak, telur Rp27.000/kg, daging sapi Rp100.000/kg, hingga sayuran Rp5.000/pak.
Program GPM sendiri merupakan upaya pemerintah daerah bersama Badan Pangan Nasional, Bulog, mitra distribusi, dan pemerintah kecamatan/desa untuk mengendalikan inflasi, menjamin ketersediaan pangan berkualitas, serta memperkuat kemandirian pangan daerah.
