Cikalpedia.id – Di sebuah rumah sederhana di pinggiran kota, Bu Rini tak bisa tenang sejak pagi. Tangannya sibuk menekan layar ponsel, mencari kabar terbaru tentang demo mahasiswa yang semakin ramai diberitakan.
“Ya Allah, semoga Dimas nggak apa-apa,” lirihnya. Dimas, anak sulungnya, mahasiswa semester lima, ikut aksi menolak kenaikan tunjangan DPR yang ramai diperbincangkan.
“Bu, ini perjuangan moral,” begitu alasan Dimas semalam. “Mereka hidup mewah, sementara rakyat masih antre minyak dan beras.”
Bu Rini menghela napas. Hatinya bangga, tapi juga cemas. Setiap kali mendengar kabar bentrok antara mahasiswa dan aparat, jantungnya serasa berhenti.
Sementara itu, di sebuah rumah dinas kecil di kota, Bu Ratna menatap foto anaknya di dinding. Seragam polisi tampak gagah melekat di tubuh Andika, anak bungsunya. Hari ini Andika bertugas di lapangan, mengamankan jalannya demo mahasiswa.
“Semoga semua berjalan aman, Nak,” gumamnya sambil menatap TV yang menayangkan siaran langsung ricuhnya aksi. Batinnya bergejolak. Ia tahu, tugas anaknya berat: menahan amarah, menjaga agar kericuhan tak meluas, dan sering kali menerima hujatan tanpa alasan pribadi.
“Polisi itu perisai negara, Bu,” kata Andika tempo hari. “Tapi sering juga jadi sasaran kebencian.”
Di jalan protokol kota, dua dunia itu bertemu: mahasiswa berteriak dengan spanduk, aparat berbaris dengan tameng. Di antara ribuan orang, Dimas berdiri di barisan depan, mengangkat poster bertuliskan “Rakyat lapar, wakilnya kenyang!”. Tak jauh dari situ, Andika berdiri dengan wajah tegang, matanya waspada mengamati kerumunan.
Terik matahari menyengat, suara sirene bersahut-sahutan.
Bu Rini menatap layar televisi, matanya mencari sosok anaknya di kerumunan mahasiswa. Pada saat yang sama, Bu Ratna pun melakukan hal yang sama—mencari wajah anaknya di barisan polisi.
