Dari minimnya riwayat tentang sosok tersebut, lanjut Asep, ada cerita mashur yang terkenal di kalangan santri di wilayahnya. Salah satu cerita dan banyak dilakukan para santri adalah berziarah sambil membawa kitab yang sedang dipelajari. Cerita tersebut menyatakan, jika seseorang sedang mempelajari ilmu agama di dalam kitab-kitab tertentu, akan turut dimudahkan jika dibarengi dengan berziarah dan berdoa kepada Allah di makam Embah Padang.
“Tapi ada cerita yang meriwayatkan, jika ada yang mau paham keilmun tertentu, berziarahlah sambil membawa kitabnya. Hadoroh dan memohon kepada Allah. Sampai saat ini banyak yang melakukan itu,” tuturnya.
Makam yang berlokasi di Dusun Godong Desa Kramatwangi itu sangat mudah diakses peziarah menggunakan kendaraan roda dua. Makam Embah Padang tergabung dengan makam umum, hanya tampak berbeda karena dilengkapi saung semi permanen yang memayungi tiga makam besar dan satu ukuran anak kecil.
Informasi lainnya dituturkan oleh Umar Sahid, tokoh masyarakat setempat. Menurutnya, Embah Padang merupakan murid dari Syekh Syarif Hidayatullah atau Sunan Gunung Jati. Nama Embah Padang merupakan sebutan untuk nama lengkap yang diberikan gurunya di Cirebon yaitu Raden Permana Dikusuma Eyang Padang Sakti.
“Eyang Padang memiliki nama asli Yahya, namun ada juga yang menyebut juga Nur Cahya. Tapi keduanya memiliki arti yang sama yaitu cahaya yang membentang si alam semesta,” tuturnya. (Ceng/San)
