The second adverse impact of using artificial intelligence is experiencing technological dependence. As explained above, the result of this dependence is the decline in employment. Artificial intelligence is increasingly sophisticated and dominates in human life which can cause excessive technological dependence. This is marked when every activity that should be done by human hands is instead done with the help of smart systems that make human thinking abilities and social skills can decline.
For example, in a student, students who rely too much on artificial intelligence in completing tasks without understanding the concept in depth which is done continuously. This can weaken human creativity and independence in making decisions. The existence of technology should be a tool rather than a total replacement in learning and working activities.
Uncontrollable dependence can erase human values and individual or group responsibility. Therefore, it is important for us to balance the use of artificial intelligence in strengthening human capacity itself in life. by considering artificial intelligence as a tool not as a total substitute in solving all problems so that we can make a decision.
Artificial intelligence is an innovative technology that can bring many benefits to everyday life, but it can also pose serious challenges to human life. The positive impact of artificial intelligence can be seen from the increasing efficiency of work in various sectors and advancing the quality of education for the better. However, we also need to pay attention to the negative impacts and should not be ignored, such as reduced employment due to being replaced by machines and the dependence of the community on the ease of technology that makes people’s creativity and independence weaken until they cannot make their own decisions.
This is where the role of the government, industry players, and society is very important to work together in designing a prevention plan for the use of artificial intelligence for education and teaching people about the ethics of wise use of artificial intelligence. Through this kind of balanced approach, we can certainly maximize the potential of artificial intelligence well without sacrificing human values. Artificial intelligence should be a tool that can support human roles, not replace them. Therefore, the future of artificial intelligence today largely depends on how we can manage it today for the sake of progress and common welfare in the future. []
