KUNINGAN – Ratusan mahasiswa dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Kabupaten Kuningan turun ke jalan dalam aksi demonstrasi menolak penundaan Pemilu 2024 dan menyuarakan keresahan masyarakat terkait kondisi ekonomi yang kian mencekik. Aksi digelar Senin (11/4), dimulai dari kampus Universitas Kuningan hingga gedung DPRD Kuningan.
Aliansi mahasiswa yang terdiri dari BEM Uniku, BEM STKIP Muhammadiyah, BEM STIKes Kuningan, dan BEM STIS Husnul Khotimah itu memadati ruas jalan depan gedung DPRD, mengenakan jas almamater masing-masing. Suasana berubah menjadi lautan warna-warni almamater dengan pekikan orasi yang terus menggema hingga menjelang waktu Magrib.
Aksi mereka bukan hanya simbolik. Perwakilan mahasiswa diterima masuk ke ruang sidang DPRD Kuningan untuk menyampaikan aspirasi secara langsung kepada para wakil rakyat.
Sorotan Tajam ke DPR dan Pemerintah
Presiden Mahasiswa BEM Uniku, Furqon Yohana, menyatakan bahwa keresahan publik menjadi dasar utama gerakan mahasiswa kali ini. Ia menyoroti kegaduhan politik nasional akibat pernyataan tiga ketua partai yang menggulirkan wacana penundaan pemilu.
“Kebijakan seperti ini justru membuat rakyat semakin menderita. Di tengah pandemi, saat ekonomi sedang sulit, yang terjadi malah harga BBM dan minyak goreng naik, sementara rakyat hanya bisa bertahan hidup,” tegas Furqon.
Ia juga menyinggung status Kuningan sebagai Kabupaten Miskin Ekstrem, seraya mengingatkan bahwa pemerintah dan DPR seharusnya fokus menyelamatkan rakyat, bukan menambah kegaduhan politik.
“Kami tegas menolak penundaan pemilu. Jangan sampai negara ini rusak hanya karena ambisi kekuasaan,” tambahnya.
Sentilan Tajam dan Sindiran Politik
Dalam orasinya, Ketua BEM STKIP Muhammadiyah, Handika Rahmat, juga menyentil perilaku anggota dewan yang sempat mengguncang publik saat rapat paripurna beberapa waktu lalu dengan aksi menggulingkan meja.
“Kami tidak lupa, siapa yang bilang ‘tidak akan nyapres’, tapi akhirnya nyapres. Siapa yang bilang ‘keluarganya tidak akan ikut Pilkada’, tapi nyatanya dua keluarganya kini jadi kepala daerah,” ujarnya, disambut sorakan massa aksi.
