KUNINGAN – Polemik tentang DPR, baik RI maupun daerah masih hangat di kalangan masyarakat. Selain soal tunjangan yang pantastis, kinerja DPR juga dipertanyakan.
Ketua Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HMI) Kuningan, Eka Kasmarandana, menyoroti lemahnya fungsi pengawasan DPRD Kuningan. Eka menilai DPRD belum optimal menjalankan fungsinya sebagai kontrol atas jalannya pemerintahan, terutama di tengah situasi yang menimbulkan polemik publik.
Menurut Eka, DPRD Kuningan justru tampak terlibat dalam ranah eksekutif, dan membela setiap kebijakannya. Kemudia, larut dalam kepentingan politik praktis, dan jauh dari keberpihakkan pada kepentingan masyarakat luas.
“DPRD seharusnya berdiri di garis depan untuk mengawasi jalannya kebijakan pemerintah daerah. Jangan sampai mereka lebih condong membela eksekutif, padahal rakyat berharap DPRD bisa menjadi pengawas yang kritis,” ujarnya, Kamis (11/9).
Eka mengungkapkan kekecewaannya terhadap kinerja DPRD yang dinilai tidak sebanding dengan hak anggaran yang diterima. Menurutnya, jumlah anggaran yang fantastis semestinya diimbangi dengan pengawasan serta kebijakan yang berpihak pada masyarakat, bukan sekadar formalitas kelembagaan.
