“Penurunan tanah di Pekalongan adalah salah satu yang tertinggi di Pantura,” tulis BRIN dalam laporannya.
BRIN juga mencatat bahwa 60,9% wilayah Kota Pekalongan menunjukkan penurunan signifikan, hasil dari analisis terhadap 45 citra radar periode 2014–2022.
Meski pemerintah sudah punya aturan seperti Pergub DKI Jakarta No. 93/2021 tentang larangan pengambilan air tanah, BRIN menilai kebijakan tersebut belum menyentuh wilayah paling parah.
“Wilayah dengan penurunan tanah terparah, yaitu Jakarta Utara dan Jakarta Barat, justru belum masuk zona larangan,” sebut BRIN.
BRIN merekomendasikan agar dilakukan pemantauan rutin dengan teknologi InSAR serta pengetatan pengambilan air tanah, disertai peningkatan kesadaran publik terhadap bahaya penurunan tanah yang terus mengintai.
Jika dibiarkan, penurunan tanah bisa mempercepat tenggelamnya wilayah pesisir—bahkan puluhan kali lebih cepat dibanding kenaikan muka laut akibat perubahan iklim.
“Dampaknya bisa sangat merugikan, mulai dari hilangnya wilayah daratan hingga terganggunya kehidupan masyarakat pesisir,” tegas Joko Widodo dari BRIN.
