Namun, tantangan belum selesai. Pedagang pagi hari disebut sebagai kelompok yang paling rentan. “Pagi itu jarang orang sengaja jajan. Maka kami kolaborasikan dengan layanan lain seperti Disdukcapil agar ada aktivitas yang mendatangkan orang,” ujarnya
Meski sejumlah pihak menganggap langkah ini sebagai bentuk penggusuran, Pemkab menegaskan bahwa mereka tak sedang menyingkirkan pedagang, melainkan menata dan memberdayakan. “Kita geser, kita tata, kita berikan tempat. Itu sesuai dengan Permendagri, penataan dan pemberdayaan. Bukan gusur lalu hilang,” kata Deden.
Lebih dari sekedar merapikan wajah kota, program ini disebut sebagai upaya mengembalikan fungsi ruang publik sesuai dengan undang-undang jalan, trotoar, dan ketertiban umum.
“Yang kita jalankan ini bukan hanya soal estetika, tapi menjalankan amanat regulasi sekaligus memastikan keberlangsungan ekonomi rakyat. Dan hanya di Kuningan, PKL bisa masuk e-katalog lokal. Itu sah dan legal,” ungkapnya.
Program ini masih berproses. Sebagian pedagang sudah merasa nyaman, sebagian lainnya masih beradaptasi. Namun Pemkab memastikan, langkah-langkah afirmatif terus dijalankan agar tak satu pun dari 357 PKL yang telah terdata merasa ditinggalkan. (Icu)
