KUNINGAN — Upaya membangun ketangguhan masyarakat terhadap risiko bencana terus dilakukan Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Kabupaten Kuningan. Kali ini, BPBD bekerja sama dengan Pemerintah Desa Sukaimut, Kecamatan Garawangi, dalam sosialisasi pembentukan Desa Tangguh Bencana (Destana) yang digelar awal pekan ini.
Sebanyak 30 peserta yang terdiri dari aparat desa, tokoh masyarakat, dan unsur Destana mengikuti kegiatan yang dikemas dengan edukasi mitigasi bencana hingga simulasi gempa bumi.
Kepala Pelaksana BPBD Kuningan, Indra Bayu Permana, melalui Kasi Pencegahan dan Kesiapsiagaan, Yayan Indrayana, menyampaikan bahwa agenda ini menjadi bagian penting dari peningkatan kapasitas warga dalam menghadapi situasi darurat.
“Kami sampaikan materi seputar peta bahaya, kerentanan bencana, termasuk antisipasi kebakaran hutan dan lahan. Kemudian dilanjut simulasi gempa bumi agar masyarakat memahami langkah cepat dan tepat saat terjadi bencana,” kata Yayan.
Sukaimut Masuk Zona Rawan
Desa Sukaimut diketahui masuk dalam kawasan rawan bencana kekeringan, longsor, dan gempa bumi. Dengan pembentukan Destana, desa ini diharapkan memiliki kemampuan deteksi dini dan respons awal terhadap potensi bencana.
“Destana bukan sekadar formalitas. Kami ingin masyarakat memiliki kapasitas dalam penanggulangan bencana sejak dini. Minimal tahu harus ke mana dan harus bagaimana saat bencana datang,” tutur Yayan.
