Kenangan Anita:
Anita: “Kalau nanti aku nggak ada, kamu jangan tinggal di rumah yang terlalu besar ya.”
Dedi: “Iya, Bu. Rumah ini hangat… karena kamu masih di sini.”
Nayla datang berkunjung.
Nayla: “Pak, aku masih suka rindu rumah ini.”
Dedi: “Rumah ini… akan selalu jadi rumahmu, Nak. Sama seperti dulu Ibumu bilang, rumah itu bukan dindingnya, tapi siapa yang menunggu di dalamnya.”
Bagian 4: Surat Terakhir di Bawah Bantal
Malam hujan. Dedi merapikan ranjang. Tiba-tiba, ia menemukan surat terlipat di bawah bantal, dengan tulisan: “Untuk Mas, jika rindu.”
Isi Surat Anita:
“Mas…
Aku yakin, suatu hari kamu akan bongkar bantal itu. Dan jika itu terjadi, berarti kamu sedang mencari aku. Maka ini jawabanku: Aku masih di sini, Mas.
Setiap kali kamu menyeduh teh, menata bantal, atau menyiram halaman, aku hadir.
Terima kasih sudah menjadi ayah terbaik untuk Nayla.
Jika suatu hari kamu merasa sendiri, tutup mata, Mas… dan dengarkan: ada aku yang memelukmu, dengan seluruh cinta yang tak pernah habis.
– Anita”
Dedi: “Terima kasih, Bu… karena kamu masih memilih tinggal, bahkan setelah pergi.”
Untuk pertama kalinya, ia tidur nyenyak. Surat itu berada di dadanya, seolah Anita kembali memeluknya.
Bagian 5: Pulang Tanpa Duka
Tahun-tahun berlalu. Dedi pindah ke desa kecil di kaki gunung — tempat ia dan Anita dulu pernah liburan. Ia tinggal sendirian, bertanam, menulis, dan setiap sore berbicara pada angin.
Catatan harian Dedi:
“Bu, Nayla kirim foto cucu kita. Rambutnya keriting, mirip kamu.
Hari ini aku mimpi kamu. Kamu bilang: ‘Sudah waktunya, Mas.’”
Suatu pagi, Dedi tidak membuka pintu seperti biasa.
Ia ditemukan wafat di kursinya, dengan wajah damai. Di pangkuannya terbuka buku harian. Halaman terakhir bertuliskan:
“Bu… aku mau pulang. Tapi bukan pulang ke rumah. Pulang ke kamu. Ke tempat semua doa dimulai.”
Ia dimakamkan di samping Anita. Kini mereka kembali bersama — bukan hanya dalam kenangan, tapi juga dalam keabadian.
