KUNINGAN – Suasana berbeda terasa di aula SMA Negeri 2 Kuningan, Jumat (26/9/2025). Para siswa duduk rapi, sebagian tampak bersemangat, ketika Bupati Kuningan, Dr. H. Dian Rachmat Yanuar, M.Si., melangkah masuk. Hari itu, orang nomor satu di Kabupaten Kuningan pulang ke almamaternya untuk berbagi inspirasi kepemimpinan dalam kegiatan Latihan Dasar Kepemimpinan Siswa (LDKS).
Di hadapan puluhan peserta, Bupati Dian menyampaikan materi bertajuk Effective Leadership and Team Building. Bagi dirinya, kembali ke sekolah yang ia sebut sebagai “rumah kedua” itu bukan sekadar nostalgia, melainkan momentum untuk menanamkan nilai kepemimpinan sejak dini. “Tanpa mengurangi rasa hormat pada SMAN lainnya, bersyukur alhamdulillah, Bupati Kuningan-nya adalah alumni SMA 2,” ujarnya disambut tepuk tangan panjang dari guru dan siswa.
Tak hanya dirinya, ia mengungkapkan, banyak anggota keluarga yang juga melewati bangku SMAN 2 Kuningan. Orang tua, saudara, hingga kedua anaknya adalah lulusan sekolah itu, bahkan satu di antaranya masih tercatat sebagai siswa.
Bupati Dian kemudian menyinggung prestasi para alumni yang sudah menorehkan nama besar di tingkat nasional. Dari jenderal bintang tiga, wakil ketua KPK, direktur Pertamina, hingga komisaris Bank Mandiri. “Ini menunjukkan bahwa SMAN 2 memiliki tradisi mencetak pemimpin di berbagai bidang,” katanya.
Dalam sesi interaktif, suasana menjadi cair. Beberapa siswa diminta menyebutkan tokoh pemimpin yang mereka kagumi. Rama Wijaya, misalnya, dengan lantang menyebut nama Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM) atau “Bapak Aing”, yang menurutnya dikenal transparan. Menanggapi itu, Bupati Dian menekankan bahwa esensi pemimpin sejati bukan sekadar jabatan. “Pemimpin itu soal sifat, sikap, dan keteladanan. Tanpa itu, jabatan hanyalah formalitas,” tegasnya.
Ia menguraikan, seorang pemimpin harus mampu memberi arah yang jelas, membangun kepercayaan, dan menetapkan tujuan bersama. Pemimpin yang gagal menginspirasi, lanjutnya, hanya akan membuat orang bekerja sekadar karena perintah. “Hakikat leadership adalah pengambilan keputusan. Seorang pemimpin harus siap mengambil keputusan demi kemaslahatan rakyat,” ujarnya.
