“Barong Soroti Anggaran Tak Transparan!”
Wartawan menyukainya, berita darinya selalu ramai diklik.
Namun, di balik gemuruh pemberitaan itu, ada senyum kecil di bibir Barong.
Senyum yang muncul bukan karena puas menegakkan kebenaran, melainkan karena satu hal, panggungnya semakin besar.
Setiap kali satu berita tayang, ponselnya bergetar.
Bukan dari masyarakat yang berterima kasih, tapi dari pejabat yang gelisah.
Nada suara mereka serupa penuh basa-basi, lalu pelan-pelan mengalir ke inti percakapan:
“Mas Barong… bisa kita bicarakan baik-baik ya, jangan sampai berita ini melebar…”
Dan di situlah seni tawar-menawar dimulai.
Kritik berubah menjadi mata uang.
Kalimat tajam bisa tumpul jika ada “biaya klarifikasi”.
Nama yang tadinya hendak disorot, bisa tiba-tiba hilang dari rilis berikutnya, tentu saja setelah kopi darat yang penuh pengertian.
